If you're a first time visitor to Moogerah, please be careful to observe the correct rotation when skiing or jetskiing. You must travel in an anti-clockwise direction and always give way to boats dropping skiers into shore. Skiing is a lot of fun, but it can be deadly if people are careless or don't observe the rules. Make sure you do your bit to keep Moogerah safe. If you witness any unsafe or foolhardy action on the water, please note the boat registration number and name and report to the caretaker for further action. Seqwater have buoyed off an area on the Eastern side of the dam which is unsafe for waterskiing due to submerged hazards. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT BECAUSE IF THIS RULE IS NOT ADHERED TO, THEN CAMPING ON THE LAKE WILL BE REGULATED BY SEQWATER AND COULD BE SEVERELY RESTRICTED. IT HAS HAPPENED!! Seqwater have advised that they now require a 50 metre setback from the water's edge for all camping. Implementation of this rule is still being worked out but WILL BE operational at Easter. This considerably reduces our campground which is already affected due to the current rise in water level. Lake Moogerah Caravan Park is predominantly a family destination. Unfortunately due to an increase in bad behaviour by a minority, there will be new rules as follows:- NEW CAMPING POLICY FOR UNDER 25s - Due to an increase in drunken, anti-social behaviour, and an increase in the incidence of rubbish, bottles and cans being left in and around campfires, a $20/PERSON CASH BOND will be required from UNDER 25s before a camping permit will be issued. This bond also relates to the 10pm noise curfew. ON DEPARTURE: You must check-out at the office. Your site will be inspected and provided there is no breach of rules the bond will be refunded in full. PLEASE NOTE: The bond is charged per person but is a SITE BOND. There will be no part payment of bond. I.E. If there are 4 people on a site - the bond value is $80. Any breach of rules wil result in full loss of bond. IN OTHER WORDS - IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON GETTING DRUNK AND PARTYING INTO THE WEE HOURS - DON'T COME TO MOOGERAH!!! Permanent Holiday Cabin News:It would be appreciated if cabin owners would ensure that family and guests using their cabins are familiar with the rules and abide by them. If you have an overflow of visitors staying overnight, they are NOT permitted to camp around your cabin which includes sleeping in cars. As they are guests using our amenities and facilities, they are required to check-in and pay for their stay. We would very much appreciate your respect for this rule. MASTER PLAN - Still no indication from the Council as to how this process is coming along. Meetings have occurred between Seqwater, DERM and SRRC so hopefully some news will be forthcoming soon.
